Disconnect first

This happens when you already have a connection. You have to disconnect that first. One way to do this is:

  1. Click Start, and then click My Computer.
  2. Right-click the icon for the mapped drive.
  3. Click Disconnect.

Another is to use the Tools command in Windows Explorer to disconnect the network drive.

This is valid for Windows XP with Service Pack 3, but it is similar in Vista and Windows 7.

It is also stupid, but we have to live with it. Don't ask me why Windows has to make it difficult, rather than asking you whether you want to disconnect the existing network drive or allowing multiple connections.
