Cursor Jumps to Top of Page in MS Word, Outlook for No Apparent Reason

I am running Windows XP Pro and Office 2007 on a Lenovo T-61. Touch pad is turned off. When I am typing in Word or Outlook, when you hit the return key at the end of a line, the cursor often jumps to the top of the page for no reason. Is this yet another wonderful feature of Windows? Can anyone suggest how to turn this feature off? It really infuriates me that MSFT constantly ships products that seem either defective or incomplete, and then force users to spend their TIME fixing this defective crap. Where is the FTC??

This is just one of the many anomalies and system errors that I have documented on Office 2007. Don't even ask me about data errors when using DDE between Outlook and Access.

Thanks

Hardware error?

I have never observed this, except on laptops with over-sensitive touchpads (i.e. most of them). I doubt that this is an Office defect.
