Controlling orientation of skype video RECEIVED in Win8.1

Fri, 2018-01-19 11:17 by Sebastian42 · Forum/category:

When I send Skype video from my mobile phone to a Win8.1 desktop it is received in an orientation that may or may not be appropriate - sometimes it is upright, sometimes sideways, sometime up-side-down. Is there a way to 'force' the appropriate orientation?

Desktop Management

Thu, 2014-02-06 09:54 by Sebastian42 · Forum/category:

Windows allows very little choice as to location and size of desktop wallpaper, whereas Active Desktop Calendar has a feature whereby an image of one's choice and be 'deployed' in ANY location on a desktop, as a wallpaper/background. Does anyone know of a program that confines it self to THAT functionality ?

Google Chrome not letting me enter a site

Wed, 2013-04-03 17:41 by Karol · Forum/category:

I use, frequently, one dating site.
Suddenly, on my computer, i cannot enter the site.
I write the correct name and password but no.
On the same computer i entered the site with internet explorer, and also entered the site with Google Chrome from another computer.
I cleared the cookies and saved passwords in chrome, but it had no effect. beside the fact that i think the cleaning was not executed since i closed and opened Chrome again and it remembered passwords for other sites. or maybe the sites themselves keep the passwords?

Skyp's dial pad doesn't work

Fri, 2012-12-28 18:53 by Karol · Forum/category:

I'm dialing a phone number with skype. the answered call has extensions, and i have to press numbers in order to reach them.
In SKYPE there is a dial pad for this, but, it doesn't work.
It seems to me that only once it worked, but i am not sure.
Is it the receiver's fault or the program's?

Use Windows Media Player DLNA to stream live internet web flash broadcast

Sat, 2012-06-16 02:00 by chota300 · Forum/category:

I have a Sony Blu-ray player BX58 with only a basic non-upgradeable browser that does not support Adobe Flash. Hence while I can connect to a website, I cannot play a live flash broadcast playing on that on that website.
However, my Blu-ray player will connect to my Windows 7 Media Player via DLNA . Does anyone know how if/how I can use Media Player to rebroadcast the website via DLNA ?
In other words, Media Player will send a saved local video to my Blu-ray player, but can Media Player "forward" the live internet flash video thru DLNA?
Thanks, John

Speaker Settings

Sat, 2011-07-02 02:17 by 1965tripleblack · Forum/category:

I have 5.1 surround sound using a Creative Sound Blaster Live! card. I set my speaker configuration to "surround sound 5.1", but it never stays that way! Every now and then I check the setup in Control Panel/sounds/speakers, and the config has changed to "desktop stereo speakers". This change happens BOTH, in windows control panel, AS WELL AS when I open the Creative Diagnostics program and check the speaker config.

Why does this happen, and how to prevent it.

Thanks in advance,

Problem with Windows Update and Defender

Fri, 2010-04-02 14:57 by surge1017 · Forum/category:

A while ago I started noticing that Windows Defender hasn't been able to properly load. I'm runnin Windows Vista Home SP 2. After a few attempts to find a solution to the problem on my own I also noticed that Windows Update isn't working at all either. I think this is all stemming from a while back an automatic update completely locked up my computer and it had to be shut down. And now, automatically or manually, I cannot install any type of updates. The way it seems it may have been a Windows Defender update that is messing me up as all my other security measures work fine.

McAfee charges credit card

Wed, 2010-03-10 15:00 by anonymous · Forum/category:

I have just received an e-mail telling me that McAfee have taken money from my visa card to pay for renewal of their antivirus program. I had uninstalled it several months ago, and didn't know that I had to contact them to stop them renewing it automatically. I don't know if this is common knowledge, but if it isn't I thought your readers might like to know about it.
