Log on as Administrator

Sat, 2008-01-05 12:24 by admin · Forum/category:

Windows Vista

In Windows Vista the Administrator account is disabled by default. You can first try to avoid logging on as Administrator to run a program with Administrator privileges or to approve admin access when asked by User Access Control (UAC).

If that is not sufficient, you have to enable the Administrator account first.

  1. Right-click on: My Computer
  2. Manage
  3. Users and Groups
  4. Users
  5. Administrator
  6. Properties

Trouble finding/updating to Windows XP Service Pack 2

Wed, 2008-01-02 23:24 by anonymous · Forum/category:

I know this is very old news... but I am having to update a computer running Windows XP Home that should have been updated with Service Pack 2 a long time ago, but wasn't. Trouble is, I cannot find where to get it anywhere. I go to the Microsoft site and they have you do Microsoft Update, promising you'll get Service Pack 2, but all that happened was that I got a whopping 64 updates installed (it took an hour) and... no Service Pack 2.

Win XP Home install issues

Sun, 2007-12-30 21:05 by rookie6 · Forum/category:

We are re-installing Windows XP to a new hard drive since the old hard drive crashed. Xp starts to load but then it just keeps looping instead of reinstalling XP. My boyfriend is really good with computers and he is stumped. We called Microsoft and they told us to follow the installation instructions on their site, so they were no help. We have called the IT people from a couple colleges as well as friends and no one has ever encountered this problem. Any solutions or suggestions?

Install Windows XP on Windows Vista

Fri, 2007-12-21 18:35 by anonymous · Forum/category:

I would like to know, how to Install Windows XP (SP2) on Windows Vista (Dual-Boot).

I have purchased HP Compaq Notebook which came Pre-Installed with Windows Vista Home Basic. I want to Install Windows XP on it.

I have created a Partition D (by Shrinking Volume C) to have Windows XP on it. But when I start the computer with Windows XP Install CD inside, the Windows XP Set-Up does'nt come at all, and starts Windows Vista. I have set the Boot Order appropriately, i.e, to Boot from CD Drive first.

Could any one please help me to Install Windows XP (SP2) over Windows Vista.

Windows XP SP2 - programs minimize on their own

Wed, 2007-12-19 19:01 by anonymous · Forum/category:

First of all, hello. This is my first visit to your site and i hope you have the most correct solution for my problem.

Let's get to the point. I have Microsoft Windows XP SP2.
Everything is cool and nice except one thing. When i engage one program, example Warcraft 3, after a short period of time full screen gets minimized. Same thing at this very moment while im typing to you. I can type but after a minute or two, mozilla gets inactive like it been minimized.
