Nero backup freezes during data verification

Mon, 2008-10-27 01:07 by Henry888 · Forum/category:

I have been using (a legit copy of) Nero backup for 2 years, to make two backup DVDs a week. About a month ago it was making a backup disk, burnt it OK, but hung up during the data verification stage. I came to the computer two hours later and the DVD burner was still spinning. The computer was so hung up that in order to clear the hang I had to pull the power cord. After that, I re-loaded the Nero suite, re-set-up my two backup jobs (each about 3 gB), set one of them up to run right away, and it hung up again.

Debugging errors

Sun, 2008-10-19 15:37 by MikeC · Forum/category:

Some programs after I have opened them run fine, when I change a setting it gives me a error and says I do not have a debugger installed. I have tried to make the changes it says with out any success. How can I find out what is causing these errors and how can I set up a debugger if that is what is needed. I am running XP Pro with 2g or ram, plenety of HD space. I have tried several programs to find and fix these problems without any success as well.
Thanks

It booted but when I selected the Repair Console, it went through the programme and asked which program u want to repair "1.C:\Windows_. I typed 1 in the blank space and thereafter it asked for the particular program which I want to repair viz., chkdsk, bootsys (around 40 topics.) What should I do to repair my already installed WIndows XP?

Custom redirection

Tue, 2008-06-17 02:05 by iantheevil · Forum/category:

I was wondering if it were possible to use a GPO to redirect the users' "My Documents" to their home folders but block certain folders such as their "My Music" folder. I don't care too much what they have on their local PC (I'm new to the company and haven't had time to crack down on the users yet :P) but I would like to be able to redirect their personal documents in case of a serious problem. I know I can block their "My Pictures" folder from redirecting but I would like a lilttle more control. I am using a Windows 2003 SBS as the DC and the users are using XP Prof.

Shutting down

Mon, 2008-04-21 08:36 by Brigham · Forum/category:

I have windows xp home. When I shut it down the computer says "saving your settings" and then "windows is shutting down" but it doesn't. It just stays on that page. The only way I can then shut it down is by pressing the start button for several seconds. I believe that this is not good for the machine. Can anyone help?

Windows won't let us in!

Tue, 2008-04-01 08:50 by TDay · Forum/category:

We have Windows XP on two laptops. Now, on one of them, when you try to log in it has an error saying Windows needs to be activated and asks if you want to do that now. Click 'Yes' and it goes to a box with a big picture of keys and says its already active and tells you to click 'OK' (only option), which sends you back to the log-in page. If you select 'No' when it asks if you want to activate Windows now, nothing happens. It's contradicting itself!

Suggestions/explanations would be most appreciated, thanks.

Deleted items return

Sun, 2008-02-03 20:56 by Edie · Forum/category:

Windows XP: I have a folder that resides on my desk top. I emptied the folder, deleted the folder and emptied the recycle bin. After a restart of my computer the folder returns to my desk top. Very STEPHEN KING like. I have done this approximately 20 times. I have tried renaming the folder... but the empty folder returns with the original name. Any ideas?
