CD dislodged in drive

It seems a CD I was using to install a program somehow came off of the tray and is still inside my DVD drive. The tray ejects fine and I can see the CD in there. It would be tough to get at it but it looks like it might be possible to remove it from the front. I could try putting a blank CD in the drive to see if it would jar the first one loose but I really don't want to aggravate the problem.

Has anyone run into this problem before and if so, any ideas? I'd prefer not to take my drive apart for warranty reasons. I am only trying to take care of this myself because I don't want to deal with Dell again having just gone through a major ordeal getting some hardware replaced.

Thanks in advance...

Take a risk

Fortunately DVD drives are not all that expensive, so you could take a risk while trying to pull out the stuck CD. If you destroy the drive, just buy a new one.

I would try it with a small screw driver, with pincers, and with pliers. Unfortunately the drives are not always easy to take apart.
