Several programs just crash

Hi, my first post here!
To my problem:

Internet Explorer works but when I try to enter a normal website, IE tries to refresh the site twice and then i get a messege that tell me that it's problem with the web-page without explaining what's wrong.
Azureus starts, but it close down instantly with a faillog in it's directory.

It all began when i installed Windows Script 5.6 and I have tried to uninstall it without succes. I am 95% sure that the update is the problem.

I have tried to disable/enable options under the advanced tab in IE. Tried to restore Windows to a previous state. Have tried to reinstall SP3 for my system. And tried to install Windows Script 5.7.
Nothing works!

Do anyone know what more steps i can try on my way to come back to a normal, stable enviroment in my PC?

My System:
IBM Thinkpad T43p - All latest updates
WinXP SP3 - All latest updates
IE 8.0 - All latest updates

Sry for my bad english and thanks for any help.

Virus/Trojan

Looks like a virus, Trojan, or adware/spyware infection to me. Windows Scripting Host 5.6 does not normally cause such problems.

You could first scan the disk with two different virus scanners.

Of course it could be something else, but this is difficult to diagnose.

I would also, later, uninstall the Java runtime environment entirely, reboot, then install it again from scratch.
