Icons not working properly

I thought I would let you know about a problem that suddenly occurred. I double clicked on an icon and the properties box came up. I tried right clicking the icon and the wrong one appeared. I thought I had a virus but I then remembered that some years ago I read somewhere that by rapid clicking the shift key, the control key, and then the delete key seperately it could clear faulty icons. While I was doing this a dialog box came up with something about "sticky keys" I didn't take too much notice of that as the fault had now gone. I expect that you know all about this, but in case you didn't, it can't hurt to have it on your forum in case somebody else has something similar.
PS I don't know if this is the correct forum to mention this type of problem.

Accessibility options

Perhaps this behavior is related to the accessibility options. Have a look there. They allow you, for example, to keep the ctrl, shift, or alt key pressed without actually holding it down, if you have a handicap that makes it difficult for you to keep one key pressed while tapping others.

If these are activated inadvertently, they can cause such strange problems.

[Thread moved to the Windows forum, as this is still a Windows problem.]
