I have a peculiar problem. Suddenly the @ key is transposed with the " key. Is there anything I can do about it?

Could it be that the country or language setting for the keyboard has changed? That would be one possible cause to check first.
Have you checked all other keys yet? Changes could hint at what country or language is set.

Yes the keyboard was set for US english. Thanks once again. I don't know how it happened as I had never been to that page before.

Thanks for reporting back!
I think there are some key combinations that also switch the keyboard language. Perhaps you inadvertently hit one of them. At least that's the only explanation I can think of.
