This is going to sound like a silly question. But I'm missing the screensaver and desktop tabs of the properties window from a right click off my desktop. I tried to get to it from the control panel, and they are missing going that route as well. I have no idea how to get them back. I am running windows XP home edition with SP2. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
System Restore

If this is a recent problem, use System Restore to go back to a state before it happened.
This is actually a very general advice that helps to solve all kinds of Windows system hiccups.
After you have this fixed, install Service Pack 3.

I have just the same problem. I cannot use system restore as a trojan, I had recently, seems to have knocked out all previous dates. I do have service pack 3. Is there any other way to reinstate
Sure

There are at least two, if the cause cannot be found and repaired directly.
Needless to say, the very last resort is to reinstall Windows from scratch.
Missing tabs

I must be the luckiest man alive. I couldn't do a repair installation as I have no CD. (pre-installed) I installed a screen saver from the internet which worked without the tab. I then did a couple of scans with Spybot, when, lo and behold, the tab miraculously reappeared.
Glad to hear

That's really good news.
To be on the safe side, get System Restore to work anyway. The next time something like this happens it can come handy.
