My Windows XP SP3 workstation has stopped printing to a network printer. I have tried different drivers from HP and even replaced the network card but nothing will print unless I reboot the machine. Nothing prints at the login screen, it is only after I login that everything then churns out of the printer.
I don't think there is anything wrong with any hardware as I have also installed Ubuntu 8.04 on another hard disk in the same machine and I can print without any problems. So it looks as if my Windows installation has gone wrong somehow.
Has anyone experienced this problem before ?

Uninstall the printer entirely. Then reboot and reinstall the printer.
To be honest, I've avoided Hewlett-Packard printers like the plague for many years. The printers themselves are good, but HP simply cannot write any decent software, particularly drivers.
