Windows socket failed to initiate

Get "Windows socket failed to initiate"--message after running RegCure trying to solve problem/error that said C:\PROGRA~1\NEWDOT~1\NEWDOT~DLL. Cannot run restore, connect to internet etc. Help please!

System Restore

Are you saying that also doesn't work? Flatten the system and reinstall from scratch. You can't build on a ruin.

You could first try to find out whether the offending DLL belongs to a particular third party program and then uninstall and reinstall that program. With some luck this could rectify things.
